MISSION

The mission of Muktabodha Indological Research Institute is to recover and preserve endangered treasures of India's religious and philosophical wisdom and make them accessible for study and scholarship, and ultimately as a resource for humanity. Muktabodha's primary projects are:

·  Muktabodha Digital Library: an on-line digital library of rare Sanskrit texts & e-texts, initially focused on Kashmir Shaivism, then broadening to Trika-Kaula, Saiva-Siddhanta, Pancaratra, Natha Yoga and other tantric works, in addition to manuscripts on Vedic Shrauta ritual.
·  Swami Muktananda Vedashala: a traditional oral school of Vedic study in Maharashtra, India that preserves and documents practice of the highly endangered Hiranyakeshi branch of the Taittiriya Krishna Yajur Veda, and the Govardhani style of Ranayaniya Sama Veda recitation.
·  Publication of translations and commentaries on significant texts of these knowledge systems.

The potential loss of such wisdom is akin to an ecological crisis. Therefore Muktabodha is actively employing both traditional methods and modern technology to help ensure that this knowledge is preserved and made accessible to scholars, students and practitioners both now and for generations to come.
